Chapter One

Where we came from.

Direct Oral Care Solutions started, like a lot of good things do, with a quiet feeling that something better was possible. After thirteen years of dentistry, our founder Dr Niki Shah kept noticing the same gap: brilliant clinical innovation was happening around the world, but very little of it was reaching everyday UK practices.

Niki had been training closely with Dr Wyman Chan, the world-renowned non-invasive bleaching pioneer, and seeing first-hand what gentle, wellness-led products could do in the chair. Patients were calmer. Outcomes were better. Days at the practice felt lighter. And yet most of these tools were sat behind language barriers, poorly distributed, or wrapped in retraining requirements that put off even the most curious dentist.

So we built DOCS to bridge that gap. To take the world's most thoughtful clinical innovations and make them genuinely easy to bring into a UK practice. Same people, same workflow, kinder appointments, better days.

What we believe.

We believe in the body's own ability to heal. We believe in conserving healthy tissue wherever we possibly can. And we believe that the best dental care is the kind that leaves people lighter, not just cleaner.

Wellness-led dentistry isn't a new idea, exactly, but it's one we think the profession is finally ready to embrace. The science behind non-invasive prevention, gentle remineralisation, and self-healing protocols has caught up with what good clinicians always intuited: less is usually more.

Every product we bring on board has to earn its place. We test it ourselves. We watch how patients respond. We talk to the dentists who've been using it for years. And only then does it land in our catalogue. We're slow about this because we'd rather have ten brilliant tools than a hundred decent ones.

Expert-led, in-practice training in dental wellness, prevention, and self-healing protocols, run by clinicians who actually use these techniques every day. Our flagship 90-minute Dental Wellness In Practice session brings the team up to speed, in your own surgery, with everything you need to start offering the new approach the next morning.

Third

We stick around

We're not interested in shipping a box and disappearing. Once you're with us, you have direct access to our team for clinical questions, patient communication support, and whatever else you need. Adopting something new is always easier with a friendly face on the other end of the phone.

Where we want to take this.

Our hope, the one we honestly cup our hands around when we talk about it, is that DOCS becomes the trusted home for next-generation, wellness-led dental care in the UK. Not the loudest. Not the biggest. The most trusted.

The kind of place a dentist comes when they want to bring something genuinely better into their practice and want a friendly team to help them do it. The kind of supplier that earns its way into your day, month after month, by quietly being good at what it does.

If we get that right, we change a few thousand patient experiences a week. We make a few hundred dental teams' Tuesdays calmer. And we nudge the whole profession a little gentler, a little more preventive, a little more in tune with how the body actually wants to heal. That's worth getting up for.
